Quince harvest

This year most of the apple harvest failed. The only really prolific crop was quinces. So we picked many kilos, took about 30kg to La Trompette, our local Michelin-starred restaurant in Chiswick, and cooked up a big batch of membrillo (quince cheese) with the rest.

  1. Oh, the articles about quince were so interesting last year! Quince are surprisingly uncommon here! Mine is a copy from a tree that I grew up. The original is in the garden of a family of Portuguese descent. It is very rare to meet anyone here who knows what they are anymore.
